Getting to Know Blacklick, OH
Located in the southern part of Jefferson Township, in the Columbus Metropolitan area, Blacklick was founded in 1852 by William A. Smith. At the time, the community originally had the name Smithville. However, because there was another town with that same name, it was renamed “Black Lick” with two words because of the creek nearby with the same name, which comes from the Big Walnut Creek.
At first, historian W. Edson Richmond believed that Black Lick Creek got its name from a local landowner H. G. Black. However, Richmond later learned Henry George Black had not been born until 1817, and an old map they discovered had indicated the river had that name going back to 1806. Blacklick was founded as a stop along the railroad line. Later, however, the community became a more popular destination as Columbus grew and it has remained ever since.

I am so happy right with this company. First, I was distraught because I am a first time home owner living in a house that we built less than three years ago and we are already having issues with our furnace. Unfortunately, since I did not know who to call my first call went to Atlas Butler. They came out and spent a very long time trying to figure out the problem only to present me with multiple choices that were all going to cost me a minimum of $900..with Christmas a week away that made my stomach drop. Not only that but the technician himself was insulting in the way he spoke to me. After a cold night, the next morning I called Pickerington heating and cooling. Everyone in the office that I spoke to was incredibly nice and caring and got me all the information that I needed to make an informed decision. And even though they were not able to tell me the cost of labor over the phone they were kind enough to waive the fee to initially come out in order for me to not lose any more money to compare cost between Atlas Butler and Pickerington heating and cooling regarding labor. Then my technician showed up early on in the window of time they said he would show up. Mike was so friendly and very kind. He checked out the situation and confirmed what the issue was and immediately called and got the part that was needed and said he could be back later the same day to install it. In no time I already got a call from the company saying that they had ordered it and set up a time for Mike to come back out and take care of it. I’m currently waiting for Mike to return, but I already trust him and feel like everyone has done the right thing and they have high standards for themselves to make sure they take care of their customers. I’m already saving around $600 going with Pickerington vs Butler. This means so much to me and I’m sure I will be a lifetime customer.

I have used Pickerington H&AC for 3 years. Expert and honest techs are keeping my unit running as intended. I will continue to use them.
I completed the service maintenance agreement tune up on a Carrier gas furnace. I visually inspected the unit. I cleaned the flame sensor. Checked voltages, amps and pressures. Completed combustion analysis. Cycled and monitored system. Operating normally at this time.
I completed a diagnostic on a Bryant gas furnace. Determined that unit was locked out on a high limit fault error code. There was a dirty filter next to the furnace. I reset and cycled the furnace. There was another error for the high limit fault. I removed, cleaned and reinstalled the flue pipe. Cycled and monitored the system. Operating normally at this time.
I completed a diagnostic on a Carrier gas furnace. Determined that blower capacitor is weak. I gave the client an estimate to replace capacitor. I replaced the capacitor. I completed a combustion analysis. Determined that the heat exchanger is compromised. I gave the client an estimate to replace the heat exchanger. I also gave the client an estimate to replace the furnace. I recommend that due to the age, condition and cost of repairs that the unit be replaced. Client decided to replace the furnace.
I completed a diagnostic on a Bryant gas furnace. Determined that there was an error code for an open limit. Found that the filter was dirty with drywall dust. Client to replace filter. I cleaned the flame sensor. Cycled and monitored the system. Operating normally at this time.
