Getting to Know Delaware, OH
The City of Delaware, settled in 1808 and incorporated in 1816, is the county seat of Delaware County. Located near the center of the State of Ohio, Delaware is roughly 30 miles north of Columbus and is a part of the larger Columbus Metropolitan Area. With a population of 34,753, the city and county of Delaware were named after the Delaware Indians.
The first known settler in Delaware was Joseph Barber, who was reported to have come here in 1807. Not long after that, additional settlers came into the area, and the most well-known among them were Moses Byxbe, Solomon Smith, William Little, Elder Jacob Drake, and Thomas Butler. Initially, the town’s founders planned on putting the town on the east bank of the river. However, they moved it to the west bank after the first plan was submitted. It is said that even though Delaware was a small community when they moved the capital of Ohio from Chillicothe, both Delaware and Columbus were considered for the new location for their central position in the state. Historians say Delaware lost in the vote for the relocation by a single vote to Columbus. After the War of 1812, however, settlers started swarming to Delaware in greater numbers. The parents of Rutherford B. Hayes, the 19th President of the United States, were among them and while their home no longer stands today, a historical marker recognizes the location as the former home of the historic former U.S. president.

Service Technician called to let me know when he was arriving. He put on protective booties and proceeded to check Heating system. He stated that the system is a MERV 10 and the filter that is being used is a MERV 14 which overtime can damage the system. He recommended to use the Nordic Pure filter either MERV 6 or 8 it is not paper it has fibers which catches more dirt and can be bought on Amazon.

I performed a tune up on a Carrier gas furnace. While performing the tune up, the customer inquired about changing their flex duct work to steel duct work. I informed the customer I would need to check in with a supervisor about that and that someone would reach out to her with an answer. System is operational upon departure.
I found the ignitor needed to be replaced, as well as the blower motor would need replaced soon. I went over repair and replace options with they customer and they opted to replace the furnace to avoid future issues and repairs. System is not operational upon departure due to issues with ignitor.
I completed the service maintenance agreement tune up on a Carrier gas furnace. I visually inspected the unit. I cleaned the flame sensor. Checked voltages, amps and pressures. Completed combustion analysis. Cycled and monitored system. Operating normally at this time.
I performed a tune up on a Comfortmaker gas furnace.
I found a wiring issue with the thermostat. I was able to fix the issue and the thermostat said it's battery was too low to connect to wifi. System is operational, thermostat just needs to charge.
